In this chapter you'll have to save a handful of prisoners whilst capturing the tile on which the boss stands. Before the chapter, if she survived the previous chapter, Fiona will join your ranks. You'll likely not want to use her, as her bases are poor and she's severely underleveled, but she has potential to be extremely durable, with her stellar defensive parameters, Imbue skill, good magic, and Earth affinity. Give Savior to Jill, and Imbue to whichever of your physical units has the highest magic, likely Nolan. The Brave Sword you get before the chapter from Pelleas should go directly to Edward, as it'll turn him into a beast, and allow him to defeat enemies he otherwise wouldn't be able to. Take all of Tauroneo's items as well, as he'll be gone until part 3 now. If Aran can use the Silver Lance give it to him, otherwise just shove them in the convoy. Give the Paragon scroll you got from the boss of the previous chapter to one of your promoted units if possible, otherwise to Micaiah so she can reach level 20. You'll want to have as high as possible for chapter 9, as she'll be just about all alone, and will need to be able to survive a few hits.
Send your units to the north to get to the door which is being blocked by an Armour, as you'll need to gain access to that to allow the prisoners to escape. Sothe should go to the east, as some NPCs will appear that he can recruit. Send Aran or Edward or someone along with him so he doesn't get all the kills. Once you recruit Tormod, Vika and Muarim, you'll want to start unlocking the prison cells, but be careful to defeat the surrounding enemies first as they'll target the prisoners, likely defeat them, and cost you bonus exp.
Some enemy reinforcements will appear in the south of the map from two doors around the seventh or eighth turn, followed by some more near the boss, so be careful to not leave any weaker units in the bottom of the map, and be ready to deal with them. Try to not get too many kills with Tormod, Vika and Muarim if you don't have to, as after part 1 you won't be seeing them again until the end of the game, when they'll be severely underleveled and won't be worth using at all.
The boss, as with every other armoured and knight boss, falls easily to Micaiah's Thani tome. You could have her nuke him, or use Nolan with the Hammer you acquired in Chapter 6 Part 1 to defeat the boss with ease, otherwise Aran with Tauroneo's Silver Lance works well too. Seize the glowing tile with Micaiah afterwards for the win, but make sure all the prisoners have left the map before you do so that you get as much bonus exp as you can.
